WHO WE ARE
The national office of the United Methodist Church originated the idea of "Shalom Zones" or places of peace for children and communities to build understanding, be nurtured, and grow in Christian faith. There are now about 300 Shalom Zones around the country. Although this ministry was initiated by the members of Gatchel United Methodist Church to serve the surrounding neighborhood, the outreach provided by this small nonprofit transcends ecumenical boundaries. Relationships and partnerships with other agencies and churches allows the work of Shalom Zone to touch the lives of many - not only the children we serve, but also their families and those in service at Shalom Zone reap the rewards. At Shalom Zone, we are breaking down the barriers and transforming lives.
She gives leadership and loving guidance to the programs and the children who are served. She gives special emphasis on communicating to the families and inviting their participation in the programs. She knows that good health and Christian growth can only be encouraged and clarified at Shalom Zone in support of the family's will and efforts. ![]() | |
